National police force rolls out Motorola BWV
The General Inspectorate for the Romanian Police is deploying 12,000 Motorola Solutions body-worn cameras, as well as its VideoManager software.
Speaking of the roll-out, chief quaestor of police Liviu Vasilescu said: “The safety of the public and our officers across Romania continues to be of paramount importance. These body-worn cameras allow us to continue to protect and serve the Romanian public in the safest and most efficient way.”
Motorola Solutions’ regional vice president of Europe, Michael Kaae, said: “We are extremely proud that the Ministry of Interior and the Romanian Police continue to see Motorola Solutions as a trusted partner. By harnessing the benefits of body-worn cameras, Romanian police forces can make their operations substantially more efficient and increase security for citizens.”
The contract follows the Inspectorate’s 2018 decision to roll-out 10,000 Motorola MTP3550 TETRA radios. The Romanian Police serves a population of over 22 million people.
